Dry ice & pumice blasting
Our staff can come to the customer and carry out the cleaning project on site, or customers can bring their equipment to Ísblik for cleaning.
Dry ice blasting
Dry ice blasting is a dry cleaning method that can be used on everything from books and electronics to equipment in food production and technical industries. Dry ice is blasted with compressed air onto the surface to be cleaned. When the ice hits the surface it evaporates, leaving a dry surface that requires no further cleaning.
Because it is a dry method that uses no electrically conductive substances, dry ice blasting is suitable in cases where other cleaning methods are out of the question. It can therefore be used directly on electrical equipment, hydraulic systems and even paper.

Pumice blasting
Pumice for cleaning is a natural, environmentally certified product. Pumice works well on a range of surfaces such as stone, timber and metals. Pumice blasting is a practical and effective method that handles thick and stubborn contamination such as rust. It is related to sandblasting, but requires considerably less material than sand and considerably less compressed air.
In certain cases pumice can be mixed with dry ice to improve the cleaning result further. The dry ice makes the contamination more brittle so it breaks up and falls off more easily.

On site or at our facility
We can bring the equipment to you and clean on site, or you can bring your equipment to us at Brekkutröð 3 in Hafnarfjörður. Customers can also buy, rent or hire-purchase dry ice blasting machines.
